General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nomination:
Lt. Gen. Kathleen M. Gainey, U.S. Army, for reappointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy commander, U.S. Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. She is currently serving as the director for logistics, J-4, the Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.
