General Officer Announcement

            The chief of staff, Army announced today the following officer assignments:

            Maj. Gen. Frederick B. Hodges, director, Pakistan/Afghanistan Coordination Cell, The Joint Staff, Washington, D.C., to chief, legislative liaison, Office of the Secretary of the Army, Washington, D.C.

            Maj. Gen. James C. McConville, chief, legislative liaison, Office of the Secretary of the Army, Washington, D.C., to commanding general, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell, Fort Campbell, Ky.

            Maj. Gen. Frank D. Turner III, program manager, Saudi Arabian National Guard Modernization Program, Saudi Arabia, to commanding general, Army Security Assistance Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala.

            Brig. Gen. Stephen E. Joyce, Army National Guard, vice commander, joint enabling capabilities command, U.S. Joint Forces Command, Norfolk, Va., to deputy to the deputy chief of staff stability/deputy director ACE projects and partnering, International Security Assistance Force, Afghanistan.

            Brig. Gen. Stephen J. Townsend, deputy commanding general (Operations), 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault)/Combined Joint Task Force-101, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan, to director, Pakistan/Afghanistan Coordination Cell, The Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.

            Brig. Gen. Jeffery L. Underhill, commanding general, 94th Army Air and Missile Defense Command, Fort Shafter, Hawaii, to director of integration, Office of the Army Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8, Washington, D.C.

            Brig. Gen. James H. Dickinson, deputy director for operations, National Military Command Center, J-3, The Joint Staff, Washington, D.C., to commanding general, 94th Army Air and Missile Defense Command, Fort Shafter, Hawaii.

            Col. Mark R. Quantock, who has been selected for the rank of brigadier general, director, Army Cyber Operations Integration Center/G-3, Second Army/Army Cyber Command, Fort Belvoir, Va., to chief, CJ-2, International Security Assistance Force Joint Command, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.
