General Officer Announcements
Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Army Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, for reappointment to the rank of general and for assignment as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Dempsey is currently serving as the chief of staff, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.
Army Gen. Raymond T. Odierno, for reappointment to the rank of general and for assignment as chief of staff, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C. Odierno is currently serving as the commander, U.S. Joint Forces Command, Norfolk, Va
