General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has nominated Brig. Gen. Scott A. Hanson, U.S. Air Force, for promotion to the rank of major general. Hanson is currently assigned as commander, Spaatz Center for Officer Education and commandant, Air War College, Air University, Air Education and Training Command, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala.
