FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Vice Adm. Vernon E. Clark, U.S. Navy, for re-appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as director for operations, J-3, Joint Staff, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Clark is currently serving as commander, Second Fleet/commander, Striking Fleet Atlantic, Norfolk, Va.
Clark was born Sept. 7, 1944, in Sioux City, Iowa.
