FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the president has nominated Vice Adm. William J. Fallon, U.S. Navy, for re-appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as commander Second Fleet/commander Striking Fleet Atlantic, Norfolk, Va. Fallon is currently serving as deputy commander in chief and chief of staff, U.S. Atlantic Command, Norfolk, Va.
Fallon was born Dec. 30, 1944 in East Orange, N.J.
