GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Lt. Gen. David J. McCloud, United States Air Force, for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as commander, Alaskan Command, United States Pacific Command; commander, Eleventh Air Force, Pacific Air Forces; and commander, Alaskan North American Defense Region, Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. McCloud is currently serving as director, force structure, resources and assessment, J-8, The Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington D.C.
McCloud was born Feb. 15, 1945, in San Fernando, Calif.
