GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Lt. Gen. Patrick K. Gamble, United States Air Force, for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as deputy chief of staff, air and space operations, Headquarters United States Air Force, Pentagon, Washington D.C. Gamble is currently serving as commander, Alaskan Command, United States Pacific Command; commander, Eleventh Air Force, Pacific Air Forces; and commander, Alaskan North American Defense Region, Elmendorf AFB, Alaska.
Gamble was born Nov. 12, 1945, in Fresno, Calif.
