GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Lt. Gen. John P. Jumper, United States Air Force, for appointment to the grade of general with assignment as commander, Air Forces Central Europe, NATO; commander, United States Air Forces in Europe; and Air Force component commander, United States European Command, Ramstein, Germany. Jumper is currently serving as deputy chief of staff, air and space operations, Headquarters United States Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, DC.
Jumper was born Feb. 4, 1945 in Paris, Texas.
