General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta announced today that the President has nominated Air Force Maj. Gen. Ronnie D. Hawkins Jr., for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as director, Defense Information Systems Agency, Fort Meade, Md. Hawkins is currently serving as deputy director, J8, for command, control, communications and computer (C4) systems, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.
