General Officer Announcements
Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Air Force Brig. Gen. Mark A. Ediger has been nominated for appointmentto the rank of major general while serving as commander, Air Force Medical Operations Agency, Office of the Surgeon General, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.
Air Force Maj. Gen. Craig A. Franklin has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as commander, Third Air Force, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Franklin is currently serving as vice director, Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
