General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta announced today that the President has nominated Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Thomas D. Waldhauser for reappointment to the rank of lieutenant general, and for assignment as senior military assistant to the secretary of defense. Waldhauser is currently serving as commanding general, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif./commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.
