General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta announced today that the President has made the following nomination:
Army Maj. Gen. James L. Huggins Jr. for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy chief of staff, G-3/5/7, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C. Huggins is currently serving as commanding general, 82d Airborne Division/commander, Regional Command South, International Security Assistance Force, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Afghanistan.
