Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jonathan W. Greenert announced today the following assignments:
Capt. Lawrence E. Creevy, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as commander, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Washington Navy Yard, D.C. Creevy is currently serving as fleet maintenance officer, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk, Va.
Rear Adm. (lower half) Michael M. Gilday will be assigned as commander, Carrier Strike Group Eight, Norfolk, Va. Gilday is currently serving as chief of staff, Strike Force North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Lisbon, Portugal.
Rear Adm. (lower half) Dietrich H. Kuhlmann II, will be assigned as commander, Submarine Group Nine, Silverdale, Wash. Kuhlmann is currently serving as director, operations division, Office of Budget, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Financial Management and Comptroller/director, operations division, fiscal management division, N821, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.
Rear Adm. (lower half) Jeffery R. Penfield will be assigned as commander, Operational Test and Evaluation Force, Norfolk, Va. Penfield is currently serving as commander, Fleet Readiness Centers, Patuxent River, Md.
