GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Lt. Gen. John M. Keane, U.S. Army, for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as deputy commander in chief/chief of staff, U.S. Atlantic Command, Norfolk, Va.
Keane is currently serving as the commanding general, XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg, Fort Bragg, N.C.
Keane was born February 1, 1943, in New York, N.Y.
