The Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jonathan W. Greenert announced today the following assignments:
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Walter E. Carter Jr., who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral, will be assigned as president, Naval War College, Newport, R.I. Carter is currently serving as commander, Carrier Strike Group Twelve, Norfolk, Va.
Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Kevin D. Scott, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral, will be assigned as commander, Naval Education and Training Command, Pensacola, Fla. Scott is currently serving as deputy commander, U.S. Naval Forces, U.S. Central Command, Manama, Bahrain.
