OPERATIONAL TEST & EVAL ANNUAL REPORT RELEASED
The Department of Defense Director of Operational Test and Evaluation announced today the release of the 1997 Annual Report to the Congress and the Secretary of Defense.
The report describes the operational and live fire testing performed on 163 military systems in 1997.
For the first time, the report provides an assessment of the contribution each weapon system makes to Joint Vision 2010, which is the conceptual framework for how U.S. forces will fight in the future.
Expanded from last year, the Test Resources section emphasizes the need for investment at our most important test and training ranges.
The report will be available on the worldwide web at www.dote.osd.mil on March 1.
