GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Maj. Gen. Hal M. Hornburg, U. S. Air Force, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as commander, Ninth Air Force, Air Combat Command and commander, U. S. Central Command Air Forces.
Hornburg is currently serving as commander, Joint Warfighting Center (J-7, Joint Staff), Ft. Monroe, Va.
Hornburg was born Dec. 7, 1945 in Corsicana, Texas.
