GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that he has approved the retirement of Gen. James L. Jamerson, U.S. Air Force, in the grade of general effective Sept. 1, 1998.
Jamerson is currently serving as deputy commander in chief, U.S. European Command, Stuttgart-Vaihingen, Germany.
Jamerson was born Jan. 29, 1941, in Durham, N.C.
