GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Maj. Gen. James E. Sherrard III, U.S. Air Force, for appointment as chief of the Air Force Reserve, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
Sherrard is currently assigned as the commander, Twenty-Second Air Force, Air Force Reserve, Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Ga.
Sherrard was born Jan. 1, 1943 in Tutwiler, Miss.
