GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Lt. Gen. Charles T. Robertson Jr., United States Air Force, for appointment to the grade of general with assignment as commander in chief, United States Transportation Command; and commander, Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill.
Robertson is currently serving as commander, fifteenth air force, Air Mobility Command, Travis Air Force Base, Calif.
Robertson was born Aug. 15, 1946, in Pineville, N.C.
