FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Rear Adm. Charles W. Moore Jr., U.S. Navy, for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Central Command and commander, Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.
Moore is currently serving as commander, Carrier Group Five in Yokosuka, Japan.
Moore was born May 24, 1946 in Midland, Texas.
