Rotational Force Will Arrive for Deactivating 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team

The secretary of defense approved the deactivation of the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division in South Korea.
 

Approximately 4,600 soldiers from 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division stationed at Fort Hood, Texas are scheduled to replace the deactivating brigade in June 2015.
 

Headquartered in South Korea since July 1965, 1st Armored Brigade has played an integral role in the defense of the Korean peninsula. The unit trained and worked alongside its South Korean partners to deter aggression.
