GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Lt. Gen. Patrick K. Gamble, U.S. Air Force, for appointment to the grade of general with assignment as commander, Pacific Air Forces; Air Component Commander for U.S. Pacific Command; and executive director, Pacific Air Combat Operations Staff, Hickam AFB, Hawaii. Gamble is currently assigned as deputy chief of staff, Air and Space Operations, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
Gamble was born Nov. 12, 1945, in Fresno, Calif.
