Secretary of Defense Ash Carter announced today that the president has made the following nominations:

Navy Rear Adm. John N. Christenson for appointment to the rank of vice admiral and for assignment as U.S. military representative to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Military Committee, Brussels, Belgium. Christenson is currently serving as chief of staff, U.S. European Command, Stuttgart, Germany.

Navy Capt. Shoshana S. Chatfield for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Chatfield is currently serving as senior military assistant, Supreme Allied Commander Europe, SHAPE, Belgium.
