GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Lt. Gen. John W. Handy, U.S. Air Force, for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as deputy chief of staff, Installations and Logistics, Headquarters U.S. Air Force. Handy is currently assigned as commander, twenty-first Air Force, Air Mobility Command, McGuire Air Force Base, N.J.
Handy was born April 29, 1944, in Raleigh, N.C.
