GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Maj. Gen. Maxwell C. Bailey, U.S. Air Force, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as commander, Twenty-First Air Force, McGuire Air Force Base, N.J. Bailey is currently assigned as director, Center for Operations, Plans and Policy, U.S. Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.
Bailey was born May 20, 1947, Paintville, Ky.
