STATEMENT ON LOCKHEED MARTIN BY ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF DEFENSE FOR PUBLIC AFFAIRS KEN BACON

"Although we have explored with representatives of Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman the possibility of settling the government's suit to block the proposed merger of those companies, those efforts have not produced an agreement that satisfies the government's concerns about vertical and horizontal integration. The government is proceeding with its plans to try the case in court."
