GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Maj. Gen. Charles R. Heflebower, U.S. Air Force, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as vice commander, Pacific Air Forces, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii. Heflebower is currently assigned as assistant chief of staff, Operations and Logistics, Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, Belgium.
Heflebower was born Sept. 18, 1945, Washington, D.C.
