GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Maj. Gen. David S. Weisman, U.S. Army, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as U.S. military representative to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Military Committee, Belgium. Weisman is currently serving as vice director, J-5, The Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.
Weisman was born on March 15, 1946, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
