GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Lt. Gen. Charles R. Heflebower, U.S. Air Force, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as deputy commander in chief, United Nations Command Korea; deputy commander, United States Forces Korea; commander, Air Component Command, Republic of Korea/United States Combined Forces Command; and commander, Seventh Air Force, Pacific Air Forces, Osan Air Base, Korea. Heflebower is currently serving as vice commander, Pacific Air Forces, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.
