GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Air Force Maj. Gen. Norton A. Schwartz for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as deputy commander in chief, U.S. Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. Schwartz is currently assigned as director, Strategic Planning, Deputy Chief of Staff, Plans and Programs, Headquarters United States Air Force, Pentagon, Washington D.C.
