GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Air Force Maj. Gen. Bruce A. Carlson for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as director, force structure, resources and assessment, J-8, Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Carlson is currently currently assigned as director, operational requirements, deputy chief of staff, air and space operations, Headquarters United States Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
