Secretary of the Army Louis Caldera will lead a senior delegation to Korea on Jan. 10 - 11 for talks with South Korean officials on the status of the No Gun Ri review. The trip will include a visit to No Gun Ri, where Caldera and other members of the delegation will visit the bridge site and meet with survivors.
Caldera will be accompanied by six distinguished Americans, members of the DoD No Gun Ri Steering Committee, and Lt. Gen. Michael Ackerman, the Army's Inspector General.
Secretary of Defense William Cohen appointed the Steering Committee and the distinguished Americans in October to assist in the Inspector General's review of the facts concerning the No Gun Ri Bridge Incident. Ackerman, tasked by Caldera to conduct the review, has made two previous trips to Korea to consult with ROK officials and meet some of the survivors.
Caldera is expected to visit the No Gun Ri bridge on Jan. 10.
