GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT

Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Michael J. Williams for appointment to the grade of general and assignment as assistant commandant of the Marine Corps. Williams is currently serving as the deputy chief of staff for Programs and Resources, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps.
