FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Navy Rear Adm. (upper half) John J. Grossenbacher for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet and commander, Submarine Allied Command Atlantic, Norfolk, Va.
Grossenbacher currently serves as director, Programming Division, N80, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
