AIR FORCE RELEASES BLACK HAWK CORRECTIVE ACTIONS REPORT
The Department of the Air Force announced today that its "Black Hawk Corrective
Actions Report" to the Secretary of Defense has been released. The report
summarizes the actions and recommendations which resulted from a multi-command
Air Force review.
Following the April 14, 1994 Black Hawk shoot down Secretary of Defense William
J. Perry directed the Air Force to conduct a complete review of specific
operational issues.
"I was briefed on the review today and commend the Air Force for its response.
As a result the Air Force will take specific steps to reduce the amount of time
units are deployed away from home and to improve training," said Secretary
Perry.
For a copy of the report contact Major Alvina Mitchell at the Air Force Press
Desk, (703) 695-0640.
