GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Army Maj. Gen. James B. Peake for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as commanding general, U.S. Army Medical Command/The Surgeon General, U.S. Army, Falls Church, Va. Peake is currently serving as the acting commanding general, U.S. Army Medical Command, Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
