GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Army Maj. Gen. Robert B. Flowers for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as chief of engineers and commanding general, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Washington, D.C.
Flowers is currently serving as the commanding general, U.S. Army Maneuver Support Center and Fort Leonard Wood and commandant, U.S. Army Engineer School, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
