FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Navy Vice Adm. Walter F. Doran for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as assistant to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Doran's previous assignment was serving as commander, Seventh Fleet in Yokosuka, Japan.
