Department of Defense Joins Red Ribbon Week Campaign
As part of a national drug-free America campaign, Secretary of Defense William
Perry will visit the Red Ribbon Week display on the Pentagon Concourse,
Wednesday at 2 p.m.
Red Ribbon Week is one part of a comprehensive demand reduction program in the
Department of Defense. For the seventh consecutive year, U.S. military
installations around the world will observe the event. All U.S. military
personnel, civilian employees and their family members have been encouraged to
participate in the nationwide campaign to increase drug awareness, prevention
and education programs.
Red Ribbon Week will be observed with exhibits by the military services and the
National Guard on the Pentagon Concourse along with distribution of drug
awareness material from October 24 - 28.
