Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld has announced the designation of Army Reserve Maj. Gen. Charles E. Wilson as the Army Reserve member of the Reserve Forces Policy Board, effective Jan. 31, 2001.
The 24-member board was created by Congress in 1952.
Acting through the assistant secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs, the board serves as the principal policy advisor to the secretary of Defense on military reserve force matters.
Members include the assistant secretary responsible for reserve affairs from each of the military departments, and active duty, Reserve and National Guard general and flag officers representing all Services, including the Coast Guard.
Wilson currently serves as the commander, 98th Division, (Institutional Training), U.S. Army Reserve, Rochester, N.Y.
