GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Army Maj. Gen. Burwell B. Bell III for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as commanding general, III Corps and Fort Hood, Fort Hood, Texas. Bell is currently serving as commanding general, U.S. Army Armor Center and Fort Knox, Fort Knox, Ky.
