GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENTS

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Army Lt. Gen. Larry R. Ellis for appointment to the grade of general with assignment as commanding general, U.S. Army Forces Command, Fort McPherson, Ga. Ellis is currently serving as the deputy chief of staff for operations and plans, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.

LIEUTENANT GENERAL

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

Army Lt. Gen. Michael L. Dodson has been nominated for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as deputy commanding general, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany. Dodson is currently serving as the commander, Stabilization Force, Operation Joint Forge, Bosnia.

Army Maj. Gen. James L. Campbell has been nominated for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as commanding general, U.S. Army Pacific, Fort Shafter, Hawaii. Campbell is currently serving as the commanding general, 10th Mountain Division (Light) and Fort Drum, Fort Drum, N.Y.

Army Maj. Gen. David D. McKiernan has been nominated for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as deputy chief of staff for operations and plans, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C. McKiernan is currently serving as the commanding general, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
