GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Army Maj. Gen. John S. Caldwell, Jr., for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as military deputy director, Army Acquisition Corps, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology), Washington, D.C. Caldwell is currently serving as commanding general, U.S. Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Warren, Mich.
