FLAG AND GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENTS
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Navy Adm. James O. Ellis, Jr. for reappointment to the grade of admiral with assignment as commander in chief, U.S. Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. Ellis is currently serving as commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Europe and commander in chief, Allied Forces, Southern Europe, Naples, Italy.
MAJOR GENERAL
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Army Brig. Gen. Lester Martinez-Lopez for appointment to the grade of major general. Martinez-Lopez is currently serving as commanding general, United States Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.
