FLAG AND GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENTS

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Army Maj. Gen. John M. Le Moyne for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general. Le Moyne is currently serving as commanding general, U.S. Army Infantry Center, and commandant, U.S. Army Infantry School, Fort Benning, Ga.

REAR ADMIRAL

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

Navy Capt. Richard K. Gallagher has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral (lower half). Gallagher is currently serving as commanding officer, USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 74), San Diego, Calif.

Navy Capt. Thomas J. Kilcline, Jr., has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral (lower half). Kilcline is currently serving as chief of staff, Commander, Naval Air Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, San Diego, Calif.
