GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Army Maj. Gen. Joseph R. Inge for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as commanding general, First U.S. Army, Fort Gillem, Ga. Since June 2000, he has served as the deputy inspector general, Office of the Secretary of the Army, Washington, D.C.
