FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENTS

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has made the following nominations:

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Donald C. Arthur, Jr., Senior Health Care Executive, has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Arthur is currently serving as deputy director for Naval Medicine, N093B, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations; deputy chief, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery and chief of the Medical Corps, Washington, D.C.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Linda J. Bird, Supply Corps, has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Bird is currently serving as director, Supply, Ordnance and Logistics Operations Division, N41, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Richard E. Brooks has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Brooks is currently serving as commander, Patrol and Reconnaissance Force, Atlantic, Norfolk, Va.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Evan M. Chanik, Jr. has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Chanik is currently serving as director, Aviation Plans and Requirements Branch, N780, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Barry M. Costello has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Costello is currently serving as deputy director for Strategic Plans and Policy, J5, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Kirkland H. Donald has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Donald is currently serving as deputy chief of staff for C4I, Resources, Requirements, and Assessments, N6/N8, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Dennis M. Dwyer has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Dwyer is currently serving as director for Strategic Systems Programs, Washington, D.C.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Mark J. Edwards has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Edwards is currently serving as commander, Cruiser Destroyer Group Five, San Diego, Calif.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Joseph E. Enright has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Enright is currently serving as commander, Submarine Group Seven, Yokosuka, Japan.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) James B. Godwin III has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Godwin is currently serving as program executive officer for Tactical Aircraft Programs, Patuxent River, Md.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) John M. Kelly has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Kelly is currently serving as commander, Cruiser Destroyer Group Three, Everett, Wash.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Michael G. Mathis has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Mathis is currently serving as assistant deputy commander for Surface Ship Technology, SEA 53, Naval Sea Systems Command and commander, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Washington, D.C.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) George E. Mayer has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Mayer is currently serving as deputy director for Operations, J3, U.S. Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Richard A. Mayo, Senior Health Care Executive, has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Mayo is currently serving as command surgeon, U.S. Pacific Command, Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) John G. Morgan, Jr. has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Morgan is currently serving as commander, Cruiser Destroyer Group Twelve, Mayport, Fla.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Eric T. Olson has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Olson is currently serving as commander, Naval Special Warfare Command, San Diego, Calif.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Ann E. Rondeau has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Rondeau is currently serving as commander, Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Great Lakes, Ill.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Frederic R. Ruehe has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Ruehe is currently serving as commander, Amphibious Group One, Okinawa, Japan.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) John D. Stufflebeem has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Stufflebeem is currently serving as deputy director, Current Readiness and Capabilities, J38, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) William D. Sullivan has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Sullivan is currently serving as director for Strategic Planning and Policy, J5, U.S. Pacific Command, Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Gerald L. Talbot, Jr. has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Talbot is currently serving as commander, Submarine Group Ten, Kings Bay,Ga.

Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Hamlin B. Tallent has been nominated for appointment to the grade of rear admiral. Tallent is currently serving as commander, Carrier Group One, San Diego, Calif.
