GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENTS
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated.:
Army Reserve Maj. Gen. James R. Helmly has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general with assignment as Chief, Army Reserve, Washington, D.C. Helmly is currently serving as the commander, 78th Division (Training Support), Edison, N.J.
BRIGADIER GENERAL
Marine Corps Reserve Col. Douglas M. Stone has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Stone is currently serving as the Marine officer-in-charge, Joint Reserve Individual Mobilization Augmentee Unit, Executive Support Center, National Military Command Center, Pentagon.
